Infinite Z’s revolutionary virtual-holographic computing platform is an intuitive way to experience information, using virtual-holographic imagery and a multi-purpose stylus to directly explore, examine, explain and exemplify. What is zSpace?

zSpace represents a brand-new perceptual experience that goes far beyond stereoscopic viewing. zSpace consists of patent pending innovation in hardware, software, and content generation, all working together as a system. The zSpace experience is truly visceral that achieves the promise of what 3D should be. A key quality of zSpace is what we have termed “virtual-holographic.” People who have experienced it equate it with what a hologram should be: Full color, full motion, 100% in space — indistinguishable from the real thing.

But zSpace takes users even beyond amazing visuals, with the additional ability to directly interact with an object using a hand-held stylus. In this way, interaction becomes totally intuitive, enabling anyone old enough to hold a stick in their hand to immediately begin using it in a variety of creative ways.

Technology

zSpace is comprised of display and direct interaction hardware, enabling software, and content generation, which together add up to uniquely clear and lifelike virtual-holographic images. Those who have experienced Infinite Z’s zSpace are continuously amazed at the quality, realism, and extent of parallax of the virtual-holographic imagery, both going in to and coming out of the display.

To create this unprecedented level of realism, Infinite Z needed to address many factors. One of the biggest challenges in the stereoscopic industry is eliminating the ghosting (cross-talk) typically encountered with stereoscopic displays. Although the ghosting on stereo displays may appear to be subtle, its presence inhibits the brain from creating true stereoscopic depth, and impedes comfortable high-parallax viewing.

Through Infinite Z’s patent pending innovation in display technology, software, and content generation, Infinite Z essentially eliminated the presence of ghosting. Additionally, the company has identified and resolved many other little-known factors imperative to the accurate perception of stereoscopic imagery. The result is an extremely comfortable viewing experience, with the highest possible stereoscopic image quality available today.

Exceptional hardware technology is not enough to comfortably experience the rich visual imagery of the Infinite Z platform. Content, consisting of applications, objects and images, must be properly captured, rendered and displayed in order to meet Infinite Z’s strict criteria for comfortable, accurate viewing. To achieve this high standard of quality, Infinite Z includes its unique software as an integral part of the zSpace platform. This software provides rendering and user interface capabilities for visualization applications, bringing 3D objects to life as virtual-holographic images.
